Actually, there's real truth to this.  I read an article that it's the porn sites that really caused a lot of the growth, commercialization, and tech development on the web.

In my own case, porn has always gotten me onlne from the start, starting back in the days of BBSs.  While I chose to not work with computers for a career, I've always done so as a hobby, and the moment I heard about BBSs providing porn online through dial-up, I was dialing in on a new 36k modem.  As the internet started to grow, so did my use of it.  Long ago I found the Voyeurweb and it's sister site, Redclouds, and I don't know how many years later, I'm still a member.  It was the only porn site I ever really paid for until recently... it's always been a hell of a value.

Everyone has different tastes in porn, but mine have always run towards amateur-type stuff.  Several reasons for this.  First, I like women who look like real women.  Second, I like to believe that the folks doing the scenes are actually enjoying it.  And finally, I like it when the folks having sex actually seem to have some bit of emotional connection.

I also like my porn graphic... and so does my wife, I'm glad to say.  As she says, if you're going to watch porn, watch porn. 

My porn surfing is generally two or three hours a session, between two and four nights a week, browsing several sites at once, as well as the regular net, facebook, stumbleupon, etc. at the same time.  I do it after everyone else has gone to bed, instead of watching TV.  I guess you could say it's my hobby, the only one I seem to have time for even in my work-parent-husband state of exhausted zombie-ism.  I need some down time, that's it, and porn is always engaging. 

For the benefit of humankind, I list the sites I visit regularly below, and why.

Reclouds.com - these are real amateur pictures from regular folks, who can win a small amount of money for participating.  This is the hardcore version of the Free Voyeurweb.com.  The pics are all-over-the-place in terms of quality, but some are great.  I think the current price is $25/year.  The biggest problem?  Too many pics!  It's hard to keep up.  I also truly love the dicussion boards... have had some great discussions with folks on some interesting topics.

Homeclips.com - Similar to the above by the same folks, but user-submitted videos.  For whatever reason this site doesn't quite do it for me, and I recently let my membership expire.

Zoig.com - A new find for me about a year ago, this is another amatuer site, geared more towards swingers, but there's a huge amount of amateur content.  I signed up for a lifetime membership for I think $79 for full access to everything, and it's been well worth it.  The video cams are also interesting... not something I ever thought I'd be interested in, but again, real people doing real stuff... I lurk with my camera off from time to time.

FetLife.com - My tastes actually run towards real folks doing really kinky stuff, and there's a bit of that on Redclouds, and not a ton on Zoig.  So I was glad to find the 'facebook of adult sites.'  Free, but I did recently shell out the $30 fee for access to the thousands of user-submitted videos.  You can spend a ton of time here on discussion boards, reading stories, looking at pics, and making friends. Although I find myself one of the more vanilla folks on the site... many folks here are lifestylers, and quite serious about it.

Literotica.com - Free, you've probably been here.  I love finding stories here to read to my wife to get her hot on a night when we need a little extra motivation.  Some stories are much better than porn.

Hotmovies.com - We no longer buy or rent DVDs, we watch them through our high-speed.  I love this site, and the unending firehose of porn.  It works out to about 8 cents a minute, but browsing is free.  This is my go-to site for a quick wank... or a slow one.  I know I can find exactly what I want here.  When I find a movie I think my wife would like, too, I throw a 'save for later' status on it, and when we watch a movie together I've usually already got half-a-dozen potential winners identified.

Welcome to the Blog of 'A Person Unnamed'...

Hey, thanks for visiting!

This is the blog of a guy who happily conforms to middle-america on the outside, and just wants to say the things he's thinking inside somewhere.

In this forum, I hope to make short, hopefully-insightful posts about things one can't usually say aloud, on politics, religion, values systems, current events, whatever. Look in particular for thoughts on odd or amusing things, and how I tie those things to larger values constructs of society.

Thanks to a screwed-up family life, I was raised by both liberal and conservative parents, and sometimes feel like I'm one of the few who really 'gets' both values systems... and still can't figure out a way to make each group understand each other.

Likely to be of the most interest to folks, I also really find the fetish world fascinating... but my participation in it is purely limited to fantasy scenarios in the bedroom... as I think it would be safe to say is the case of most people, although my wife and I really enjoy doing roleplay and scenarios that I think would lump us into the category of 'kinksters,' but not fetishists. I hope to use this blog to talk about stuff I can't talk about with folks from work, church, or the PTA.

I'm not looking to change the world, I'm just looking to contribute to the discussion an put out some interesting, unpopular, amusing or perhaps-shocking thoughts and viewpoints in a way that doesn't put me or my family at risk. At the same time, I do hope to use this as a sounding board for documenting my own values system.

Here are the three key principles around this blog:

1. I will always be friendly and polite. However, I will not tolerate intolerance, hatred, or those whose activities or actions who put other's lives at risk.

2. My posts will be kept short, less than 500 words... unless they're not. It's a fast-moving world, but we also have to acknowledge that complexity exists, especially when discussing values. Long posts will be flagged with a short-attention-span warning.

3. My posts will have a f-ing point, preferably quotable, and somewhere (title or 1st or last pararagraph) will be easy to cut and paste for Tweeting.
